The Story:

Locally born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii Brandon relocated to the big island at the age of 15. He was introduced to all types of art mediums growing up and always had an easier time with art compared to arithmetic but he still managed to stay on track. He had many different jobs throughout his teens then into his early twenties but still did art as a hobby. He began getting tattooed and was immediately drawn into this new medium. I guess one could say tattooing found him. While researching online for his next tattoo idea he stumbled across a website which sold tattoo equipment and it was then that he bought what starter kits came recommended. With absolutely no training he began experimenting on himself and everyone around him before taking up an apprenticeship at a shop here in Hilo. It was here at ink expressed he quickly learned his new medium of choice and evolved. His art and tattoo techniques  grew for two years before he ventured out to open the doors of Native Flesh Tattoo with fellow artist and friend Jonathan Babino. The partnership quickly spawned two other shops in Kailua-Kona on the big island, along with the flagship shop still in Hilo within their first year, over the years they grew, their art, the clientele, and the business. They eventually and mutually agreed to end the business partnership after three years, with Bino keeping the Kailua-Kona locations and Brandon keeping Hilo, they remain close friends till today. Though his roots are firmly planted here in Hawaii, he does dream of one day traveling and slowly spreading his artwork with all whom are willing to bare the mark..... The mark of a native!
